After the Bhajans & Chanting of Hanuman Chalisa, Poojya Guruji Sri Swami Atmanandaji gave an elaborate pravachan on the first chaupayi of the Chalisa - Jaya Hanuman Gyana Guna Sagar.
Janam Celebrations, a set on Flickr.At dot 12 in the night all the devotees celebrated the birth of Bhgwan Sri Krishna with great devotion & enthusiasm. The lights were switched off & on at 12 and everyone did the Maha-Aarti, devotees sang bhajans and danced.
Vishnu Sahasranama Archana (j8-2014), a set on Flickr.The beautiful ritual of Vishnu Sahasranama Archana was organized in the night of Sri Krishna Janmashtami - just before the birth-time of Bhagwan. The program started at 9.30 and continued till 11.30. Thousand names of Bhagwan Vishnu were chanted by Poojya Guruji, P. Swamini Amitanandaji and P. Swamini Samatanandaji. The main yajman were Sh Ajitbhai & Rajshriben from Vadodara. Poojya Guruji kept on explaining few words here & there, while the devotees kept on replenishing the flowers. Later there was Aarti. It was a divine experience for all.
Janmashtami (2014) Cultural Program, a set on Flickr.Complete Album of the Cultural Program on the eve of Janmashtami (17th Aug) at Vedanta Ashram - in which various nearby children and campers participated. First there was the Matki-Phod Program - in which a blind-folded person had to try going towards a pot full of toffees & chocolates. Navigation is challenging and is just by sounds. Nakul Dubey won and magnanimously shared his booty with all. Later there was a lovely ‘Dance Presentation’ by Anagh Sharma and Deeksha Soni, in which they presented lovely dances on bhajan songs of Bhagwan Krishna. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the programs.
Gita Chanting on Janmashtami Day, a set on Flickr.Select chapters of Bhagwad Gita were chanted by devotees at the Vedanta Ashram in the Sankaracharya Sabhagruh - in the morning session. Some devotees had gone aay to Omkareshwar for darshan.
2014: Independence Day, a set on Flickr.The campers of the Janmashtami Camp celebrated the Independence Day Vedanta Ashram by hoisting the tricolor on the Ashram terrace. The hoisting was done by the youngest camper from Bhavnagar - Darshan Trivedi. Everyone sang the National Anthem and paid their respect to the country.
Janmashtami Camp: Day-1, a set on Flickr.Album of the full day routine of the first day of the ongoing Vedanta Camp. This Janmashtami Camp started in full swing from 12th Aug morning. First there was a Meditation Session by P.Swamini Amitanandaji, then the Chanting class by P.Swamini Samatanandaji. Everyday some devotee has reserved the Puja for themselves. After breakfast there are two sessions of Amrutbindu Upanishad Pravachans by Poojya Guruji. After lunch & some rest, there is the Gita Pravachans by P.Swamini Amitanandaji. Evening after some badminton sessions and dinner the final session is of Bhajans & Satsang.
Janmashtami Camp Inaugurated, a set on Flickr.The Janmashtami Vedanta Camp was formally inaugurated on 11th Aug evening. The main camp starts tomorrow morning with Meditation Session at 5.30 AM. Sh Chandrashekhar Agarwal of Poornima Printers, Mumbai, said that his first impression of the Ashram is that the place is heavenly. He said that he has been to many places but this place is indeed different and the best till now.
